POC Radio Compatiable Accessories
Case Details

Power-Time is a manufacturer of professional communication accessories for POC (Push-to-Talk over Cellular) radios and devices. With more than 22 years of experience serving distributors, system integrators, and communication equipment suppliers in over 70 countries, we build every product around three priorities: reliability, compatibility, and long-term performance.

Unlike conventional radio accessories, POC compatibility depends on two things: the physical connector on the device and the PTT protocol the platform uses. Our range is engineered around both — covering amplified remote speaker microphones, wired and Bluetooth headsets, connection cables, PTT adapters, and multi-unit chargers for the devices themselves, plus custom development for OEM and ODM programs.

What We Supply for POC

Our POC line focuses on the accessories that determine whether a deployment works in the field: audio, cabling, charging, and the adapters that connect them. We do not attempt to cover every possible accessory type — we concentrate on the categories we manufacture ourselves and can stand behind at fleet volume.

  • Amplified remote speaker microphones — wired and Bluetooth, with dedicated amplification for vehicles and high-noise sites
  • Headsets and earpieces — acoustic tube, ear-hook, tactical, noise-cancelling, and bone conduction designs
  • Connection cables and PTT adapters — the interface layer between devices, headsets, and platforms
  • Multi-unit chargers — multi-bay units that charge the POC devices themselves, for depot and shift-change charging
  • Custom development — OEM and ODM programs covering connector specification, housing design, and firmware configuration

If you need a category not listed here, contact our team — we regularly develop accessories to a customer's device and platform specification.

Smart Devices and Tablets

Many POC deployments run on general-purpose smartphones and tablets rather than purpose-built radios. Our USB-C and 3.5 mm / 2.5 mm accessories are designed to work with the audio and PTT functions of these devices.

  • Rugged Android devices: RugGear and Sonim Android platforms running PTT applications
  • Mainstream smartphones and tablets: Android and iOS devices with USB-C or 3.5 mm audio input
  • Rugged business devices: Kyocera DuraForce series and comparable enterprise handsets

PoC Mobile and In-Vehicle Radios

  • Hytera: MNC360 and related PoC mobile radios
  • Inrico: in-vehicle PoC mobile units
  • Vehicle installations: hands-free microphone, external amplified speaker, and dash-mount configurations for PTT-enabled fleet devices

Audio Solutions for POC Devices

Audio is where most POC deployments succeed or fail. A device that works perfectly in an office can become unusable in a running vehicle, a construction site, or a warehouse. Our audio range is built for those conditions.

Amplified Remote Speaker Microphones

Standard POC device speakers are designed for close-range use. In vehicles, on job sites, and in high-noise industrial environments, they are not loud enough. An amplified remote speaker microphone solves this by adding a dedicated power amplifier and a larger speaker element.

  • Amplified speaker output: Dedicated amplification stage delivering substantially higher volume than a device's built-in speaker
  • Noise-cancelling microphone element: Reduces background noise so transmissions stay intelligible in loud environments
  • Large tactile PTT button: Operable with gloves, and positioned for use without looking
  • On-mic volume control: Receiver volume adjustable from the microphone rather than the device
  • Built-in earphone jack: Accepts a receive-only earpiece for discreet listening when needed
  • Rugged construction: Reinforced strain relief, heavy-duty belt clip or button-mount kit, and water- and dust-resistant housing
  • USB-C and analog interfaces: Available in USB-C powered versions and in wired versions matching common device connectors

Wired Headsets and Earpieces

  • Acoustic tube earpieces: Transparent tube with soft earbud for discreet audio delivery — standard for hospitality, events, and retail
  • Surveillance earpiece kits: Combined earpiece, lapel microphone, and PTT set for covert and professional communication
  • Ear-hook earpieces: Over-ear and open-ear acoustic designs for secure fit and extended wear comfort
  • Tactical and fire-ground headsets: Over-ear and helmet-compatible configurations with boom microphone for security, tactical, and fire-fighting operations
  • Noise-cancelling headsets: Active and passive noise reduction for high-decibel industrial and machinery environments
  • Bone conduction headsets: Open-ear design that keeps the ear canal free, so users retain ambient awareness while communicating
  • Heavy-duty headsets: Reinforced headband, swing arm, and cable construction for daily industrial use

Cables, Adapters, and PTT Accessories

This is the category most POC deployments underestimate. Because POC devices use several different connector standards, the difference between a working system and a failed rollout is often a single adapter.

  • Audio connection cables: Replacement and extension cables for earpieces, headsets, and speaker microphones, in straight and coiled options
  • Audio adapters: Bridge 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, and dual-pin (K1-style) connector standards between devices and accessories
  • PTT adapters: Enable an existing headset or earpiece to trigger push-to-talk on a device it was not designed for
  • USB-C audio and PTT cables: For devices that route both audio and PTT through the USB-C port
  • Connector adapters: Multi-pin to standard audio conversion, and cross-platform connector bridging
  • Vehicle microphone cables: For dash and visor microphone installations

Bluetooth Accessories for POC

Bluetooth accessories remove the cable entirely, letting users clip a speaker microphone or PTT button to their clothing and move freely around a vehicle or work area.

Bluetooth Remote Speaker Microphones

  • Wireless amplified speaker microphone: Belt-clipped RSM with PTT, volume control, and receiver jack
  • Extended runtime: Internal rechargeable power source rated for a full shift and beyond, charged over USB
  • Noise-cancelling microphone: Directional pickup to reduce background noise in loud environments
  • Heavy-duty rotating belt clip: Secure attachment while allowing the microphone to sit at a comfortable angle
  • 3.5 mm earphone jack: Accepts a receive-only earpiece for discreet listening

Bluetooth PTT Buttons and Lapel Mics

  • Wireless PTT buttons: Compact wearable buttons that trigger push-to-talk remotely, including handlebar and steering-wheel mounting options
  • Bluetooth lapel microphones: Combined lapel microphone and PTT in a discreet housing
  • Long-runtime variants: Including models using replaceable coin cells for zero-maintenance operation

Bluetooth Protocol Compatibility

Bluetooth PTT accessories are not universally interchangeable — each platform handles the push-to-talk signal differently, and a microphone that works with one platform may not trigger PTT on another. Our Bluetooth accessory line is configured for the following environments:

  • Hytera POC devices: Configured for Bluetooth operation with Hytera POC handhelds and mobile radios
  • Telo devices: Configured for Bluetooth operation with Telo POC devices

For deployments running on other platforms, please contact our team with your device and platform details so we can confirm whether a suitable configuration is available or can be developed.

Custom Bluetooth Development

Because Bluetooth PTT behaviour is platform-specific, we support custom development covering pairing configuration, button mapping, audio profile selection, housing design, and firmware behaviour for OEM and ODM projects. Send us the target device and platform specification for a feasibility review.

Charging and Docking Solutions

Fleet charging is an operational issue rather than a technical one — the goal is to get every device back to full charge overnight without relying on individual wall chargers. Our multi-unit chargers are built to charge the POC devices themselves, including handhelds and in-vehicle units.

Multi-Unit Chargers

  • Multi-bay charging: Simultaneous charging of several POC devices from a single unit
  • Gang charging cabinets: Higher-capacity configurations for depot and shift-change charging
  • Charge status indication: Per-bay indicators so staff can confirm readiness at a glance
  • Compact footprint: Designed for dispatch desks, vehicle depots, and equipment rooms
  • Device-specific cradle geometry: Cradles designed around the exact device pocket and contact layout

Desktop and Vehicle Charging

  • Single-unit desktop chargers: For supervisors and low-volume deployments
  • Vehicle charging kits: Hardwired in-vehicle charging for fleet installations
  • USB power adapters and cables: For devices charging over USB-C

Custom Charging Development

Charging configurations depend heavily on the device being charged and the number of units per site. Through our OEM and ODM programs we develop custom multi-unit chargers covering bay count, device cradle geometry, contact design, charge control behaviour, and cabinet form factor, including private-label branding. Send us your device model and site quantities for a feasibility review.

PTT Platform Compatibility

POC deployments are built on software platforms, and different platforms handle push-to-talk differently. Our accessories are tested against the audio and PTT behaviour of the following platforms rather than against brand names alone.

  • Motorola WAVE PTX: Broadband push-to-talk platform used across enterprise and commercial fleets
  • Motorola Kodiak: The platform underlying carrier PTT services including AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk, Verizon PTT+, and T-Mobile Direct Connect
  • Zello and Zello Work: Widely deployed app-based push-to-talk used by enterprises for team coordination
  • ESChat: Secure push-to-talk platform used in law enforcement and corrections
  • TASSTA: Push-to-talk and dispatch platform used in European public safety and transport
  • Hytera HORIZON: Hytera's POC platform with dispatch and GPS fleet tracking

Platform compatibility depends on the combination of device, accessory, and application configuration. If your deployment uses a platform not listed here, contact our team with the details — we regularly develop configurations for additional platforms.

Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Standards

Quality control remains a core part of every product we manufacture. Our production and testing procedures include incoming material inspection, audio performance verification, Bluetooth pairing and range testing, cable flex testing, connector durability testing, drop testing, environmental testing, and compatibility verification against the device and platform configurations they are designed for.

Advanced testing equipment allows us to evaluate product performance at each production stage, so that every batch meets the reliability expectations of professional POC users.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Power-Time accessories genuine parts from the device manufacturers?

No. Power-Time is an independent third-party manufacturer of communication accessories. Our products are designed to be compatible with the POC devices and platforms listed on this page, but they are not manufactured, licensed, or endorsed by Sonim, RugGear, Caltta, Inrico, Telox, Icom, Hytera, Motorola, or any other device or platform manufacturer. We state this clearly because we want buyers to know exactly what they are purchasing.

How do I know which accessory fits my POC device?

Two things determine compatibility: the physical connector on your device, and the PTT platform your team uses. Send us your device model and platform, and we will confirm the correct accessory before you order. In most cases we can confirm within one business day.

Do you make amplified speaker microphones?

Yes. Amplified remote speaker microphones are one of our core POC product lines. They add a dedicated amplification stage and a larger speaker element so transmissions remain audible in vehicles, construction sites, and high-noise industrial environments, where a device's built-in speaker is not sufficient.

Which PTT platforms do your Bluetooth accessories support?

Our Bluetooth accessories are currently configured for Hytera POC devices and Telo POC devices. Bluetooth PTT behaviour is platform-specific — a microphone configured for one platform may not trigger push-to-talk on another — so we list only the configurations we have actually verified rather than claiming universal compatibility. If you need a different platform, contact us and we will assess whether a suitable configuration can be developed.

Can you supply adapters to make an existing headset work with a POC device?

Yes. PTT adapters and audio adapters are a core part of our POC range. They allow an existing earpiece, headset, or speaker microphone to trigger push-to-talk on a device it was not originally designed for. Because POC devices use several different connector standards, please send us both connector details so we can confirm the correct adapter.

Do you offer multi-unit chargers for fleet charging?

Yes. We manufacture multi-unit chargers and gang charging configurations that charge the POC devices themselves, for depot, dispatch-desk, and shift-change charging, along with single-unit desktop chargers and vehicle charging kits. Bay count, cradle geometry, and cabinet form factor can be customized for larger deployments.

Do you also develop charging hardware for a different device or configuration?

Yes. Through our OEM and ODM programs we develop custom charging hardware to a customer's specification, covering bay count, device cradle geometry, contact layout, charge control behaviour, cabinet form factor, and private-label branding. Send us the device model and your site quantities for a feasibility review.

Do you provide OEM and ODM services for communication accessories?

Yes. We provide OEM and ODM services covering custom branding, packaging, connector specification, housing design, firmware configuration, and full product development. We already supply accessory programs to communication equipment brands; because those relationships are covered by confidentiality agreements, we do not list customer names. Contact our team to discuss your project requirements.

What is the typical lead time and minimum order quantity?

Standard production typically takes 3 to 5 weeks depending on order size. Minimum order quantity varies by product type. Contact our sales team with your target model list and quantities for a specific quotation.

Which certifications do your communication accessories carry?

Our products are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management. Depending on the product category, certifications and test reports may include CE and RoHS. Bluetooth products may additionally carry applicable radio and EMC certifications. Contact us to confirm documentation for a specific product.
